OCT Wellness Scan
Our OCT fundus camera has the ability to provide you with a Optical Coherence Technology (OCT) Wellness Scan. These scans are recommended for all new patients to check your eye health. The health of your eyes is important, which is why we are offering this latest technology to all of our patients.
OCT is a new, completely painless and highly advanced screening system that checks for potentially serious conditions such as glaucoma, diabetes, age-related macular degeneration, high blood pressure and more.* If an eye problem is discovered through an OCT Wellness Scan then Dr. Buehner would then have the ability to order additional testing as deemed appropriate. *Note: These OCT Wellness Scans are offered as a service to our patients at an additional cost. Insurance will not pay for this service as it is elective and optional. The cost of the Wellness Exam will be $30.

Meet Dr. Buehner
Dr. Jaclyn Buehner was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology with a minor in Anthropology in 1999. She went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from the Ohio State University College of Optometry. It was there that she received the John Glassman Memorial Scholarship. She began practicing in Columbus, Ohio from 2007-2014.
Dr. Buehner moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 2014 with her husband and three children where she opened her location in Moncks Corner, SC. In 2018, she opened her second location in Summerville, SC.
She enjoys her busy days helping her patients from ages 5-105! Dealing with routine eye exams to more complicated medical visits, diabetic eye exams, and multifocal contact lens evaluations and fittings keeps her busy. Dr. Buehner enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, traveling and exploring all that beautiful Charleston has to offer.
Katherine Kegel, OD
Location: Mt Pleasant Office
A native Charlestonian, Dr. Katherine Kegel graduated from the College of Charleston in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and earned a Doctor of Optometry degree from The New England College of Optometry in 2000.
Passionate about providing personalized, high-quality eye care to patients of all ages, Dr. Kegel is dedicated to serving the Lowcountry community and values building lasting relationships with every patient. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with family, taking the dogs to the beach, and boating around the Charleston area.
Matthew Rollins, OD
Location: Summerville and Moncks corner
Originally from California, Matthew spent much of his youth enjoying the great outdoors near Yosemite National Park. His mother's work as an Optometric Assistant sparked his early interest in the field, leading him to take on his first job in an optometry office while in college. It was during this time that he fell in love with the profession and knew it was his calling.
After graduating from Fresno State, Matthew went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University. There, he served as Vice President of his class and was recognized with Clinical Honors.
In 2011, Matthew moved back to the Charleston area, where he has been happily practicing ever since. When he's not caring for patients, he can be found outside enjoying his outdoor passions, such as camping, fishing, and hiking
